Giant Swallowtail Butterfly laying eggs on Hop Tree

Watch this female Giant Swallowtail Butterfly circling my Common Hop Tree
and laying eggs on leaves.

Females tend to lay eggs on the top of leaves and the tiny white/yellowish flowers of the Common Hop Tree.

The Common Hoptree seems to be a favourite host Giant Swallowtail Butterfly plant in my garden, followed by the Prickly Ash bush.

So far my Common Rue have not gathered any eggs, although they make suitable plants to raise larvae on and caterpillars will readily accept them as food source if introduced very early (after hatching)
